Abstract:
Axelos, a joint venture between the UK government and Capita, develops, manages and operates qualifications in best practice methodologies formerly owned by the UK Office of Government Commerce (OGC). This includes ITIL, PRINCE2, Management of Risk and RESILIA: Cyber Resilience. Last summer Axelos launched RESILIA, which includes in its portfolio Foundation and Practitioner courses in Cyber Resilience, an Executive Level Cyber Resilience Seminar, a Cyber Resilience awareness program for employees and a Pathway tool used to conduct Cyber Resilience self-assessments.
This presentation will address RESILIA: Cyber Resilience and its key components. One of the key aspects of RESILIA: Cyber Resilience is the need for a balanced approach via Protection or Prevention, Detection and Correction. Protective or Preventative controls are intended to prevent incidents that jeopardize cyber resilience.
Likewise, in our lives we should have protective or preventative controls that prevent attitudes and behavior that could jeopardize our relationship with our maker (thus with Christ). Detective controls are intended to identify the occurrence of an incident that jeopardizes cyber resilience, so that the organization can respond appropriately. Similar detective controls in our lives can help us respond appropriately when we fall into disobedience (i.e., sin) against our maker. Finally, Corrective controls are intended to respond to the incident and recover from the situation. In our lives we also must take corrective action to respond to and recover from sin.
